Some Tips On Puppy Training
Pets are indeed great and when it comes to a puppy, not only its great but it’s a loyal friend. Puppies are adorable but only if they are well trained. You can buy yourself a well trained puppy but after sometime when it becomes a grown up and then have a baby. Who would be training it? Obviously you, yourself will have to train it. But don’t worry, training is not only just very easy but it is also much fun. Especially when it comes to the puppy training, it is very enjoyable and pleasuring. So, one should never miss the opportunity to train the puppy by himself.
It is really very important to start the training of your puppy as soon as you’ve bought it or got it so that the puppy does not develop some bad habits which would eventually be a problem when the puppy gets older. There are a number of ways to train the puppy and a number of trainings that you can give to your puppy. The different types of training involve the basic training at first. This training would help your puppy to listen to the commands such as sit, run & stay. This training also emphasizes on the puppy’s socialization ability.
The next training your puppy should receive is the intermediate one. It’d be teaching your puppy to heel down or walk properly and to fetch and return while also enhancing all that were in the basic training. Next training you could be giving your puppy is an advanced training. It involves the basic hand signals which involve all that you thought in the intermediary training. It also involves teaching him to walk beside you and without having a leash. It’ll also teach your dog to pay attention towards you and avoid any kind of distractions.
There are more puppy trainings like house-training, bark-training, potty-training and other trainings to sharpen & strengthen the puppy’s abilities. It is good to have a puppy trained but there are few things to consider like whether you keep a positive reinforcement or the negative reinforcements. Positive reinforcements will make your puppy’s behavior good while negative one could result in the puppy’s aggression. And if you choose the positive reinforcements and punishments, the chances that your puppy learns faster are greater. So avoid using any negative reinforcements such as shouting at the puppy or hitting it.
The experts say if you choose to praise the puppy with treats, the puppy would be friendlier and more mannered. Treats could be like each time it does something good, praise your puppy like “Good boy!” or simply by offering a good treat to him. And when your dog does something bad, do not ever praise him because that would enforce the puppy to keep doing it. You may reward your puppy with a healthy biscuit or a toy such as a ball. And remember, when you’re training your puppy, choose the right course so that your puppy gets to be well adjusted and well behaved.
