All dogs are known to bark, to dig, to roll in mud, to scratch and to chew. Dogs are well loved pets. These loyal and loving animals have indeed made of lot of change to human lives. In spite of the dogs loyal and loving nature, an owner may think of abandoning the pet because of its unwanted behaviors. Destructive chewing is one of the most common concerns of pet parents. No pet owner would want to constantly replace the things destroyed by the dog’s indiscriminate chewing habit.

Chewing is a natural behavior of dogs. Puppies at the age of three months would be noticed trying the strength of their gums and teeth . Puppies, unlike humans, have no hands thus the mouth and the teeth are used to investigate their environment . Puppies are very curious fur balls and the only way by which they can learn about their world is to gnaw thing . Teething pains entices puppies to chew more. Babies are usually given teethers to ease teething pains and to strengthen the gums. Puppies would manage their own teething pains by gnawing the brand new rug or the leg of antique furniture. This destructive chewing has other repercussions. Swallowing an object that can create a blockage is a dangerous situation that can result to the death of the dog. Indiscriminate chewing in puppies can be managed easily by providing the confined pet with safe chew toys. The tendency to chew is generally outgrown by most puppies.

What concerns most owners is when a well behaved mature dog suddenly grow into an indiscriminate and excessively chewing pet. There has to be an underlying reason for the dog’s destructive behavior. Loneliness, inactivity and boredom can be the cause for the dog’s destructive chewing behavior. Finding out what makes your dog chew is only the beginning. It is just as important to know what to do when it chews. Dogs are one of the animals that crave interaction. A dog is not similar to a cat that would be contented to stare into space alone all day. Being a social animal, a dog would need a member of its human family or another dog to play with. As you would expect, dogs would not know the value of things. A dog pining for its master would be enticed by the shoe that has the master’s scent. A dog has to have outlets for the pent up energies. A dog that is cooped inside the house with no toys or no playmate would find its own entertainment.

These are all signs of puppy separation anxiety, and it’s important to rid your puppy of this problem so it doesn’t follow him as he matures. If left unchecked, it will quickly turn into adult dog separation anxiety, and it will become very difficult to deal with at that point. It may even become disastrous!

I can identify with this problem. About six weeks ago, I got the second puppy I’ve ever had from the local animal shelter. I got very lucky because I found a collie/shepherd mix, and I absolutely LOVE collie dogs!

My very first puppy as a child was a beautiful collie named Macs. Macs has been gone for almost 15 years now, but I still remember him with fondness in my heart.

Although I love my little puppy, he’s causing me some big problems right now. He gets very upset when I go to work, and I never know what I’m going to find when I return home in the evening. Usually, it’s a ripped up pillow or rug. More often than not, he’s relieved himself several times throughout the house also.

I’ve picked up several books on puppies at the local library to help me figure out what’s wrong but none of them really helped. They were all older and somewhat outdated. Since puppy separation anxiety has just started to become recognized by experts, I turned to the internet for recent advice.

I found a few tips to control my puppy’s anxiety, but nothing to cure it completely. Here are a few tips to help control your puppy’s separation anxiety problem:

1. Don’t subject your puppy to long, emotional goodbyes. Just leave. If you keep coming back to your puppy before you leave, it will feel like it’s being rewarded for behaving anxiously, and that’s the exact opposite of what you want.

2. Teach your puppy how to be alone. Get him accustomed to being alone by putting him in a room by himself for about 5 to 10 minutes. Slowly increase the duration of time that you leave him alone, until your puppy no longer scratches at the door and cries to come out. It may tug at your heartstrings, but tough love is necessary here.

3. Play with your puppy for 15-30 minutes before you leave. Not only will you give him some attention before going, you’ll tire him out so that he’s less likely to destroy your home while you are way.

As you can see, these are just tips to control puppy separation anxiety. They won’t necessarily cure it.

The good news is that you don’t have to consult an expensive vet to help you with this. I’m now going to tell you about a fantastic informational product that helped me to rid my puppy of his separation anxiety in less than three weeks.

It’s called Curing Dog Separation Anxiety, and it’s written by canine behavioral expert Stephanie Abel. I highly recommend this as an affordable and effective solution. It worked for me, and I guarantee it can help you, too.

My puppy no longer whines and cries before I leave, and he doesn’t destroy my home anymore. Now if I could only get him completely house broken…

Is your new dog suffering from puppy separation anxiety? If so, the best thing you can do to help is gain the knowledge necessary to cure your puppy completely before he matures into a full grown dog. You won’t have to pay an arm and a leg to get that knowledge if you visit Curing Dog Separation Anxiety.

If you’re looking for tips to get your new puppy housebroken, then grab a hot cup of coffee and find a comfy chair because you’re going to want to read this article right away.

In the next few minutes, you’re going to learn three fantastic tips that are going to help you house train your puppy fast. First, we’re going to discuss the benefits of crate training. Next, we’ll talk about how to establish a routine for your puppy. Finally, we’re going to finish up by talking about how you can tell if you’re puppy is about to go, and what you can do to use that to your advantage.

First, let’s start with crate training. The first thing you need to do is get a crate that is large enough for your dog. Your dog needs to have enough room to move around and get comfortable in a sleeping position, but giving too much room will defeat the purpose of putting your dog in the crate.

You shouldn’t lock your puppy in the crate for more than 2 hours at a time, and never use it as a punishment tool. Crate training is effective because dogs don’t like to go to the bathroom where they sleep.

Normally puppies will need to do their business at least once every three hours. You should always take your puppy outside immediately after he comes out of the crate. This process is teaching your puppy that he must wait until he gets outside to go to the bathroom.

Next, let’s talk about the importance of getting your puppy into a routine. The first thing you need to do to establish routine is take your puppy outside at the same times every day. Always use the same door to exit. This should be the door that you want your puppy to signal to you from when he needs to go out. Once your puppy becomes trained, he’ll start to paw at this door when he needs to go to the bathroom. Sticking to this routine is very important if you want your puppy to learn how to hold it until you are available.

Finally, let’s talk about how you can anticipate your puppy’s needs. There are several “clues” that your puppy will give you when he needs to go out. Heavy sniffing and circling around a specific area, and staring or pawing at the door are two that you probably won’t miss.

If by chance you do miss the clues and catch your puppy in the act, it’s important that you don’t make a big fuss. Instead, take him firmly by the collar and bring him outside immediately. Once outside, pull up slightly on the collar and say “no” in a firm tone. After he finishes, however, make sure you pat your puppy’s head and praise him. Even though he had an accident, you corrected the behavior and you need to reinforce the corrected behavior with a reward.

Exercising common sense is important when house training a pup. Be smart. Don’t give your puppy water or food right before bedtime. Set him up for success. Cater to his schedule at first, and then you can begin to mold that schedule to fit your needs. Have patience. Your puppy wants to please you. Lastly, be consistent. If your puppy has an accident because you weren’t consistent, don’t blame him. It isn’t his fault.

These tips that you have just read will help you housebreak your dog. Employ proper crate training, get your puppy into a routine, and learn to anticiopate your puppy’s needs, and your new dog will be house trained before you know it!

Now that you have learned a few tips to housebreak your puppy, you can begin to train your puppy in other areas. You can get a complimentary 25 page dog training guide at Dog Training And Obedience Guide.

Burying bones, barking and chewing are only some of the natural behaviors of dogs. Dogs burying bones are often seen in children’s books, in the movies and in animated cartoons. Dog owners would know about the dog’s puzzling habit.

With a sneaky look on its face, a dog that has a bone on its mouth will look for an ideal spot to hide the “treasure”. The instant the best hiding place is found, the dog will dig madly and bury the bones. Dogs have been domesticated for thousands of years but are dog owners aware of the reasons why the pets bury bones Do dogs know why they are burying bones? The pet may not be aware why it is burying bones as scientists believe that this is an instinctive habit to survive.

Dog scientists have this theory that the inclination to bury bones is an ingrained habit of canines. The habit of burying bones is as old as the dog’s history. Dogs have been domesticated for thousands of years but these animals have been in existence for millions of years. Burying bones have been a very useful habit for primitive dogs that need to survive the harsh life in the wild. The ancestors of modern day dogs have had difficult lives. Dogs in the wild constantly need to be on the lookout for predators and to safeguard their food from other animals that would want to have a share of the prey.

Stocking the pantry is a habit of humans. Squirrels work long hours to fill their coffers with acorns and nuts. Even ants fill their anthills with food in preparation for the rainy days. Dogs bury bones to hoard food. In the wild, food is hard to come by. A dog that has hunted a prey would need to secure the “bounty” not only from other animal but also from members of the pack. The buried food will be unearthed when food is scarce. The dog will unerringly find the buried prey although it is possible that what will remain are the marrow-rich bones.

Dogs these days never lack food. Dogs need not bury bones for the rainy days but the instinct to hoard remains. Dogs still have the inclination to hide not only bones but other food as well. Dog owners would just be surprised to find treats and bits of food hidden on the dog’s bed. Because digging and burying bones and other food is instinctive in dogs, pet owners just have to take in stride the inclination of the pet to rearrange the garden to bury its “treasures”.

7. Use short commands such as sit, lie down quietly, and so in one word. Do not repeat the command. Dogs remember the command to 2 minutes. Shorter words better than long words ending in hard consonants K, T, q is better than the vowels, because you can give the team emotionally (in those cases where this is necessary).

The only team that can use three words – a team of “Come.” In this case, you first have to attract the attention of the dog, calling her name, Rex, then the word “me!” and “good boy”. Make sure your tone of voice that she was gay and not rigid.

8. Take the dog on a leash, drew her attention so that she looked straight at you and say “Look at me!”. Then say “Sit!”. Poorly trained dog will sit down slowly, that’s when you need instantly with a promotion in his voice (in the high tones and sincerely) to say “Good boy, Rex” and immediately give a reward.

Untrained dog can give a treat so that she inadvertently sat down herself to get it. Successful job ends with praise and getting goodies. In some cases, the pressure on the collar, the bottom of the casing dogs are also used.

9. When your dog will execute the commands correctly more than 85% of cases in a relaxed atmosphere, you can move on to the next level courses, beginning to encourage the command “sit” more quickly – within 3 seconds, then 2 seconds, 1 second, or immediately . Or you can also give a treat for a correct execution of the command to sit, if a dog has fulfilled its better than just touched the tail of the earth.

10. Gradually increase the performance of the dog the command “sit-stay” until she can perform it for one minute, until the owner leaves for 5 steps. Continue to increase the time and distance after the dog has successfully completed the task for 5-10 attempts. In cases of long-running commands “sit” remuneration must be given time to time, throughout this command, at least during exercise.

11. Change your team, do exercises with short and frequent, because the dog is easier to learn in short and frequent training. When the dog will learn some useful commands at constant receipt of remuneration, it means that the dog is rewarded for each correct response out of habit, then you must change the order of compensation for periodic.

First, the dog may be rewarded by 2-3 times, and then every third time, and so long as the rewards will be given randomly. It is the way of weaning goodies and work only for food. Remember that it is always important to praise your dog immediately when done correctly, this team than to reward or not later.

12. When teams are well established in a relaxed atmosphere, you can gradually begin to train in more noisy environments, while continuing to train in the yard on a leash, extending it between you and the dog and in the end without him, the dog would obey no orders. It will be very useful to engage in a relatively lively environment to achieve control over the dog, even in distracting situations. “Holy Grail” training of dogs – a dog reliable, obeying without instructions no matter what. This level can be achieved only through hard work and investment of time. So try and remember how he said about training dogs Konrad Lorenz (Konrad Lorenz): “Art and science are not sufficient, the main thing – patience.”

1. Training a dog should be fun for you and your pets. If you’re not in the mood for a dog training, then do not even start. It is desirable that the training was short, for 5-10 minutes at a constant holding the interest and motivation of the dog.

If your dog does not execute commands after several attempts, do not give reward to it. Resume training after a few seconds after the execution of simple commands, and then return to the more complex commands.

Always finish training on positive note. Let the dog team, which she will perform well, then reward her for good work and finish giving an example using “rest”. Avoid common words like “OK.” Exercise dog owner and the dog itself should leave with a feeling of success.

2. Every dog should know basic obedience commands, including commands “Come,” “Down,” “Sit down!”, “Next!”, “Stop!”. Suffice it a valuable lesson is to teach the dog the commands to sit, stand and lie down, sit on a leash. And also there are some additional useful commands such as: leave, give, stop, stop.

Remember that the motivation of the dogs is that a decrease in the number of teams increases the complexity of the tasks. Success is closely tied not only to the degree of job satisfaction, but also to motivate the dog in the performance of your team. Here’s a dog issue: methane from side to side or bring up to the boss? Give the dog to understand that she needs to do, and it will increase your chances of success.

3. During training there should be no negative emotions or coercion. There should be no shouting, beating or electroshock. To achieve good results, each training session should take place in a good mood and positive life. Remember that when non-compliance with the commands the dog must not punished, and simply did not pay. Most of the dogs want to please their owners or, in extreme case, to obtain something of value (food, attention or toys).

4. Make sure that during training motivation dog was at the highest level, which means that if the reward is food, then the training should take place before a meal, not after. If, however, praise or play with the dog, and other elements of attention, then you need to plan a workout at a time when your dog is more than just demands your attention (for example, to return home from work).

To generate interest in the dog and increase the performance of complex tasks, such as lying, standing on a leash, the dog should be given moderate exercise before the main workout. Sharp excess physical capacity of the dog in the early stages of training will lead to unintended consequences.

5. Make sure that the dog received a treat, the most desirable. Dogs, for whom food is a prize well rbotayut in training, provided that this food – a favorite treat (eg, small pieces of cheese or dried slices of liver). Treats let the small size and in small amounts, the composition should not crumble, do not be large and so did not need to chew, otherwise the dog will constantly be distracted.

If praise is used as a reward, then praise your dog in high tones, sing-song – the most enjoyable for your pet, the enthusiasm in your voice will also be appreciated it. If you play with the dog used as a reward, it is best to pat the dog hair on the muzzle in the growth of wool or scratched his chest. Warning: stroking the head do not like many dogs!

6. By the time compensation is also important. After the faithful execution of the command must be given a treat in half a second that she understood the connection between the correct execution of the command and reward.

There has never been a better time to begin training your dog yourself because there are now excellent online dog training guides like SitStayFetch and Dove Cresswell’s available to download online 24/7/365. You can get started with them within minutes from right now.

There are a lot of great things about “do it yourself” online dog training. Most obviously it’s far less expensive than hiring a local pro dog trainer. You may also have trouble finding a high quality dog trainer in your area depending on where you live.

That said, I think the most powerful reason to train your own dog is so that you will be able to develop a more personal one on one relationship with your canine friend. If you take a little time to learn how to best communicate with your dog then that will definitely be a rewarding experience for both of you.

When you have your dog trained by a local pro your dog may learn to be obedient only when the pro trainer is around. If this is the case then it doesn’t really do you much good at all. Of course you want your dog to learn to listen to you, not to someone else! This is another substantial reason to decide to train your dog yourself.

With the online dog training programs I mentioned above you can begin learning dog training right now and you can do so without any risk because they both have a 60 day full money back refund with every purchase. This means you can try it out and see if it works for you and if you are not pleased with it for any reason you can very simply get your money back.

With prices this low and guarantees this strong you may want to buy both guides just to make certain that you are using the right one of the two for you. Plus, there’s nothing wrong with learning DIY dog training from both of them.

Those who are near Austin may want to hire this Austin, Texas Dog Trainer instead since he’s reasonably priced and very good at what he does.
